(Caracas, September 11. Noticias24). –The National Electoral Council (CNE) performed on Wednesday the last phase of fingerprint duplication audit control corresponding to the presidential elections on April 14.
Carlos Quintero, Information Technology CEO, said that this process will finish on Friday. He added that next week Tibisay Lucena, CNE President, will announce the process results.
It was known that the process includes fingerprint captured in previous elections update and addition of approximately one million new registrations, which will “further strengthen the electoral system,” Quintero quoted.
He said that, despite the withdrawal of some political organizations from the audit process, it was certified by them before the rejection for the non-inclusion of the vote folders for the corresponding test, which led them not to continue participating in the process.
Today´s audit is performed after citizen verification done last June, which, according CNE showedonly 0.02% vote error.
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Argentina and a Carter Center representative are the delegations present on the country on Lucena request for last August UNASUR Council regular meeting.
